We cannot change what has happened already in our life, but we can make a decision not to let our past fate or destiny define our future from this point on.

A good many people look at life with a “whatever will be, will be” attitude, especially as they get older, but if instead we think about it as something we actually have control over, we can then take deliberate and measured actions to create our own destiny.

Is it not better to believe we can control our destiny by making deliberate, conscious decisions rather than merely being passive bystanders in our own lives?  As passive bystanders, life simply “happens to us” when we could be making life “happen for us” once we have chosen a path we wish to take.

I believe we are in full control of our choices in life and that our actions, in response to what fate offers us, matter. We are here to learn lessons and the hard decisions we have to make are what helps us grow as humans. And it matters not at all what the beginning of our own personal life story was like, because each new day brings with it a fresh, clean page and the opportunity to shape our life in a new direction if we choose to do so.  In fact, I’d say that today’s a pretty good day to get started.  What say you?
