Dew-spangled cobwebs

A couple of mornings ago, before the downpours, the wild field here was covered in these dew-spangled cobwebs at sunrise. What a sight to behold; like fragile jewel formations strung from stem to stem.

It really does look and feel decidedly like early autumn, with its golds, browns and endless dried seedheads. Today, after the rain, it smells like autumn too.

I’m wondering (hoping even) if it’s time to bring out the sweaters and warm socks. Anyone else feeling the autumn vibes?
