Swans on flooded farmland .... it doesn't take long for the natural world to be turned on its head by extremes of weather. Today is the last day of the Christmas holidays so we went to Bransby Horses Rescue Centre to visit a horse that was recently "gifted" to our granddaughter. You can buy a year's adoption and the money goes towards the upkeep of the horse. She was so disappointed to learn that the horse had died in the meantime, and we had no idea. However, feeding hay to this cute ginger Shetland pony helped soften the bad news.
